About Us

Scott Love, CPC

Scott Love is one of the most frequently-published authorities in the search and recruitment industry and has created an entirely separate recruiter training company.  Over 3,000 search firms from over 20 countries have invested in his recruiter training programs and materials.

Scott has been quoted on employment and workplace issues in the Wall Street Journal, Australia’s Business Review Weekly, Selling Power Magazine, and numerous major city daily newspapers and Business Journals. Scott is the author of ‘The Recruiter’s Adventure Book’ and has written over 250 articles on leadership, management, client development, and recruiting. He is the president of the North Carolina Association of Search and Staffing Professionals and past president of the Arizona Association of Search and Staffing Professionals.  He has been a ‘headhunter’ since 1995 and two years later earned the industry’s only professional certification, the Certified Personnel Consultant (CPC) designation.

Scott graduated from the United States Naval Academy in Annapolis, Maryland with a BS degree in Political Science.   Scott began his career in executive search after resigning his commission as an officer in the United States Navy.  While serving on active duty, he was third in command of a U S Navy ship and during his shore duty tour he was a leadership trainer and organizational development consultant at the world’s largest naval base.

Scott spends his free time playing golf, beating his friends at poker, spending time with family, hiking the Blue Ridge Mountains, and active involvement with an Episcopal ministry for the homeless and street people.  Although he commutes to Washington regularly to meet with candidates and clients, he lives in the scenic mountain city of Asheville, North Carolina, with his wife, his eleven year old son and infant daughter, their bipolar cat, and their toothless rescue dog named ‘Smoky’.

Vision of The Attorney Search Group

1. To develop a reputation as the most trusted, respected, and effective search firm among partners and law firms in the greater Washington, DC, region.
2. To become the first search firm considered by law firms in the DC market when a partner need is realized.
3. To become the first search firm considered by partners when wanting to move their practice.

Code of Ethics of The Attorney Search Group

1. We do not present resumes of candidates to clients without the candidate’s express permission.
2. We do not recruit from firms where we have placed candidates within the past twenty-four months.
3. We do not recruit from clients who have actively engaged us in a current search or are currently interviewing our candidates.
4. All confidential information about clients and their hiring, marketing, and operational strategies are kept in confidence.

 Our Expertise and Approach

We are experts at recruiting exceptional partner-level and chief counsel attorneys, that’s it. Our small size and personable approach keeps us from seeming like a ‘lawyer mill’ and makes our process more engaging and inviting. Because we are a single site boutique firm, the candidates know their information isn’t shared in a database where they might fear a breach of confidentiality. They feel safe enough with us to take a peek at your opportunity. And sometimes that small peek can result in a big move for them.

 We are in high-level sales.

Our core competency is to develop authentic relationships with prospective candidates and effectively sell them on your opportunity. We capture the attention of star partner level candidates, earn their trust, build an authentic relationship, and move them forward in the process, one small step at a time.

 We are tenacious.

Tenacity. Resilience. Persistence. That matters more than anything in a recruitment consultancy. We are able to give complete coverage to our assignments without coming across as pushy or unctuous headhunters.
